I am Kim Herdman Shapiro, the mom to two teenage boys that have grown into young men: Ben is in his third year of Film School and Matti is a freshman at studying Computer Science at college.  Ben is a history buff and a playwright (two produced plays under his belt - yes, I am proud and not embarrassed to show it.) Matti is my computer guy, building his own computers and coding.

 

As for me, I am a Canadian journalist, author, and blogger. I have worked in both print and broadcast journalism, as well as creating one of the first ever digital e-zines with my Microsoft Award-winning travel site, Footloose. 

 

Although I grew up in Vancouver, I have lived and traveled to many different places around the world.  Some of these places are detailed in my book, Gelato with the Pope.

For the past twenty years, my husband and I have been living in New England. We divide our time between a small town in New Hampshire and an even smaller village in Vermont.  We are the owners of (or property of, considering your perspective) three dogs: Piper, Marco and Alba.

At present my writing life has been focused on two mystery series that I am writing, both based in the British Columbia of my childhood.  I also serve on the board of Sisters in Crime New England and am their Public Relations Director.
